The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), a cornerstone event within the energy sector, commenced in Houston, Texas, from May 6 to 9, 2024, hosted at the NRG Stadium. Since its inception in 1969, OTC has evolved into a paramount platform where professionals from the energy industry convene to exchange insights, experiences, and visions. As a global leader in energy technologies and innovations, OTC continues to facilitate discussions that address pressing issues confronting the offshore energy sector, solidifying its position as a pivotal event in the industry calendar.

Amidst the global transition towards sustainability and a low-carbon future, OTC’s agenda is diverse, emphasizing the latest advancements necessary to expedite the transformation of the global energy landscape. Deliberations span various energy sources, encompassing oil and gas, solar, wind, hydrogen, and marine resources, with a central focus on innovations driving the evolution of the energy mix worldwide. With its annual flagship conference in Houston, OTC has expanded its reach both technically and globally through initiatives such as OTC Brasil and OTC Asia, reinforcing its commitment to fostering collaboration and progress within the energy sector.

The 2024 edition of OTC witnessed the inauguration of the Nigerian Pavilion, signaling Nigeria’s dedication to showcasing its energy potential on a global stage and attracting vital investments to its oil and gas sector. With about 25 Nigerian companies participating under the Nigeria Pavilion, the 2024 OTC serves as a crucial avenue for Nigeria to demonstrate its readiness for business and attract much-needed investment in its oil and gas sector.

The Africa Energy Forum held on May 7, 2024 saw a packed audience.
